As you would have guessed by their name, BestCatholicBibles.com is an online eCommerce store that sells Bibles. And not just any Bible, they only deal in Douay-Rheims Bibles, which is considered as one of the purest, exact word-to-word translated English iterations of the Latin Vulgate Catholic Bible, with approval from the Vatican.

The website is the brainchild of Memorare Media Group, which is dedicated to promoting the knowledge of, appreciation for, and availability of the Douay-Rheims Bible and the Latin Vulgate Bible in America. To amplify their outreach efforts, they came to us with their desire to push selling more Douay-Rheims Bibles online across the United States and we were glad to help. Here’s what we did for them.
Completely revamping their online store was our first priority as their website was the only touch-point between them and people who wanted to buy Bibles in America. Also, there was no regard for providing a seamless user experience on their previous website which had little to no navigation. Their home page was literally their product page as well, and that’s a big no-no when it comes to designing e-commerce stores. They needed a new homepage that clearly conveyed to site visitors what their website is about and a separate product page, where users could easily browse all their products.

With the help of our WordPress developers and designers, we created a new custom WordPress theme for them and integrated it with Magento to provide a seamless eCommerce experience
Their previous website lacked certain e-commerce website elements which make the user trust a website more, probably the reason they were not making many sales. Elements like testimonials, shopping cart, customer support information, and the latest contact information were added to the revamped website to increase the level of trust with site visitors and probably make some sales.
They already had implemented a credit card payment gateway from Authorize.net but it didn’t work well and often lead to bounces. We fixed that as well to streamline the broken buyer journey.
